Hurricane Irma

The Shelter Cove Company is actively monitoring Hurricane Irma and her projected path.  Preparations are being made to secure the common areas in Shelter Cove.  We would ask that all residential areas also assist in preparing their properties by securing any items on porches, pool areas etc.

Although the forecast track of Irma has been adjusted a little more to the east, it is still too soon to know the forecast track and timing.  Currently both Beaufort County and Hilton Head Island are at OPCON 4, which simply means the possibility of an emergency or disaster situation that may require state coordination during emergency management operations. Governor Henry McMaster has declared a state of emergency ahead of the potential for landfall for Hurricane Irma.  At this time, NO Hurricane Watches or Warnings nor evacuations have been issued for our area.

We have time to allow us to prepare for Hurricane Irma’s potential landfall and ask that you take this time to make sure your plans are in place and ready to implement if needed.

Our office will continue to monitor Hurricane Irma and provide updates as necessary.

To purchase a brick, call Shelter Cove at 843-310-0431.

Pickering’s Stéphanie Visconti living her dream in the U.S.

DURHAM — Stéphanie Visconti is in South Carolina and says it’s “not a bad place to spend the summer.”

But the Pickering native isn’t on an extended vacation. She’s in the ensemble cast of Mamma Mia! at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island until Aug. 6.

“It’s really, really great,” she says. “It’s a nice long run. It’s a very exciting show to be in because the ensemble is very involved. There’s a lot of singing; I’m singing all the time.”

Visconti says more than 400 actors auditioned for the 20 roles and her audition was in the form of a video submission.

In March, she had a run as one of six ensemble performers in Mame in Florida.

The day after her high school prom Visconti hopped on a plane to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City (NYC). She’s been beating the odds, landing roles and working steadily since graduating last fall.
